Róbson de Souza was born on 25 January 1984 in São Vicente and plays for the English side Manchester City. He is also a member of the Brazilian national team. Possessing some good dribbling skills and pace he can open up any defense that he is playing against. He also possesses some good shooting skills that allow him to score some spectacular goals. However his work rate is not one of the best and he does not come back to defend a lot.

He started his career with Santos just as Pelé did.

His mother Marina da Silva Souza, was kidnapped by gunmen, but she was released after a ransom was paid.

In January 2009, Robinho was arrested because of serious sexual assault. However no further actions were taken by the police.
